Experience
The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) subjects can be intimidating, especially if your own parents didn't feel confident in those areas. If this is your story, high-five! It's also mine. I'm the first and only engineer in my family, and worked hard to learn the above subjects. I didn't have a tutor, but I know that having one would have saved me from a few frustrating nights. This is why I enjoy tutoring---I help students get 'unstuck' in the very same places that I was many years back. But more importantly than the subject matter is *confidence*. Put aside the math and science, and my underlying, primary goal is to teach confidence. It's the most powerful weapon you can wield in this increasingly competitive world. As your tutor, it is my personal goal to build not just a strong knowledge foundation, but also a solid platform from which you can stand up and assert yourself. Tutoring Experience: Organic Chemistry Mathematics (up through Pre-Calculus) Work Experience Chemical Engineer (1 year) Polymer Research Engineer (1 year) Oilfield Services Engineer (0.5 years) English Language Teacher (1 year) Courses: General Chemistry (1 year, college) Organic Chemistry (1 year, college) Calculus Physics College math: Calculus, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra (1.5 years) General Biology (1 qtr, college) Full resume: LinkedIn.com/in/ajamodei

Hobbies
Fixing computers. I loved tinkering with them since my family purchased our first desktop in 1999. Since then I've re-installed operating systems, replaced hard drives and optical drives, installed memory, and upgraded graphics cards. In addition to computer repair and upgrade, I enjoy hiking the Cascades, going to movies with friends, reading novels/biographies/historical fiction, eating Chipotle burritos, and sipping Jamba Juice while reading WSJ or other news.
